Make your voice heard!
On this November’s ballot, Brooklyn Center is asking voters to consider a half-percent local sales tax to collect up to $44 million over the next 20 years to fund the renovations and expansion of the Brooklyn Center Community Center.
There are three ways to cast your ballot on the local half-percent sales tax referendum:
Vote early in person
Friday, Sept. 20 - Monday, Nov. 4
Residents can vote early in person at City Hall, located at 6301 Shingle Creek Parkway, Brooklyn Center, MN 55430.
Early in-person voting begins on Friday, Sept. 20, and ends on Monday, Nov. 4.
Voters can cast their ballot:
Every Monday-Friday from Sept. 20 - Nov. 1: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
October 26: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
October 29: 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
November 2: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
November 3: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
November 4: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Vote early via absentee
Beginning Friday, Sept. 20
Residents can vote early at home by requesting an absentee ballot beginning Friday, Sept. 20.
Completed absentee ballots must be submitted to the same office as ballot applications were requested from, and ballots can be submitted in person or by mail.
Absentee ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.

Vote on election day
Tuesday, Nov. 5
Residents can vote at their local polling place on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
